Travelogue : Mines Beach Resort, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

4:12 PM

My son had been asking for a beach vacation for weeks. He mentioned it several times — “I want beach vacation!” — and I knew I had to make it happen somehow.

The only challenge? I wasn’t in the mood to travel far. So instead of planning a long drive to the coast, I looked for something nearby that could give us a beach-like experience without the hassle. That’s when I discovered Mines Beach Resort in Seri Kembangan.

One thing that makes Mines Beach Resort truly stand out is its man-made beach pool — a pool with real sand that actually extends into the water. It’s not something you see often in Malaysia!

At first, I was curious (and slightly skeptical) about how they maintain the hygiene and safety of a pool with sand covering the floor. But surprisingly, the water was clean and clear throughout our stay. None of us experienced any skin irritation or discomfort — so I’d say it’s well-maintained.

In early 2025, I got myself DJI Neo so I kinda captured more videos than photos..

And my Instagram currently filled with more Capcut videos than photos heheh so here is the video summary of our trip:

My son absolutely loved it (we went in the afternoon, and in the morning). He spent hours building sandcastles and splashing around in the shallow areas. The whole setup gave a real “beach holiday” feel — without the waves, salt water, or long drive.

Mines Beach Resort may not be a coastal getaway, but it delivers a surprisingly enjoyable “beach experience” right in the city. The real-sand pool is a unique feature that children especially will love.

As a parent, I appreciated the convenience. Everything we needed was within reach, and the atmosphere was calm and family-friendly. It’s the kind of place where kids can have fun while parents get to relax a little too.

Look at this little guy with all his smiles. Food is good, but not memorable enough. Good spread, okay quality..

If you’re looking for a short, family-friendly staycation and don’t want to travel too far, this place is definitely worth considering. My son had a great time — and honestly, so did I. We might just come back soon!

Until next post!
