It was the time when tiramisu suddenly became a trend, and my social media feed was flooded with creamy layers of coffee, cocoa, and mascarpone. Naturally, as a certified dessert lover (and major cheese fan 🧀), I decided to join the fun.

Every week, I would sneak in a café stop — all in the name of research, of course. 😌 From rustic Italian bakeries to minimalist hipster cafés, I tried one tiramisu after another, chasing that perfect balance of espresso, cream, and cocoa.

But one day — out of nowhere — something shifted.

The same cheese that once made me so happy suddenly didn’t appeal anymore. My body just… said no. And that’s when my tiramisu-hunting journey quietly came to a pause.

Let’s just say, sometimes life has a funny way of signaling new beginnings — will reveal later!

I’ve rated each one based on texture, coffee balance, sweetness, and overall satisfaction:

This is yet to be my most liked tiramisu, because of the balance between sweet and bitter, with the coffee creme drizzle.. this has the cheesiest taste (to me!) and I'll approve this to be the best that deserved my top list

2. LACHER PATISSERIE (7/10)

One maybe surprised that Lacher did not make it to my top tier (came second, ok what?). The size is small, but not so expensive so okay.. reasonable.. What frustrated me the most is the chocolate ring (wrapping the whole tiramisu), I cracked it, I eat it with & without tiramisu, yet still cannot find the purpose of the creation (chocolate ring). Haha weird to me..

People rant about this, queueing for hours and pre-order (thanks husband, for queue-ing for me! While I waited patiently in car). Not sure the hype now, but my tiramisu hunting ended in June 2025. Taste is okay (above average), but still deserved my top 2 (tie between 3 brands) because I find nothing "extra" ooomphh in them!

I liked that it isn't as sweet as my previous encounter, so I finished half of this servings in about 5 mins! Means my tastebuds approved this, ey? I think if my brain didn't signal to stop, I may continue until finished completely.. But my brain is wise.. to save half for dinner (and yet I always will taste the takeaway tiramisu FRESH WHEN PURCHASED because I didn't want external factor like storage, temperature, etc) to ruined this review..

During the first bite, you can taste the heavily soaked lady finger in coffee+sugar. Too sweet! I suggested (more like warned) my friend that this is the sweetest, and she agreed! I am definitely a sweet tooth, I took sweet drinks daily (tak pernah insaf yea), like I drink Teh Ais every meals! But once I sense this heavily sugared Tiramisu (manis leting), I cannot go! I think I finished this cute jar >1 week.. WILL NOT REPEAT

6. CHIZU (5/10)

Average tiramisu, single layer. Not memorable.. I love their cheese drink more. Been trying their crookies and all.. I decided I only love their Matcha Cheese Latte that's all. WILL NOT REPEAT
