2022 Eidulfitri : A Surprise Raya!

8:03 PM

Alhamdulillah eventhough it was a surprise Raya!

While it is especially me who constantly reminded everyone that we always follow the national calendar for Raya, when it was announced that we were going to have Raya a day earlier, I was speechless

We are not ready for anything that day -Raya attire still unpacked at home (we were in my in-laws). Husband then went out searching for raw meat (chicken) because Raya dish must be cooked now. Done around 12am

We went home at 1am to pack, and rest for a bit (no one wants to sleep during raya festive, right?).

Raya Day 1

We travel back to my hometown on Raya morning and arrived just in time for raya dishes

Alhamdulillah, it all went well. Mom & step sister went out to relatives house but we were home resting (& karaoke). Plan has changed, we stay a little longer at my hometown because studio photoshoot is on 2nd raya (initially it was 1st raya). Save the raya attire for 2nd raya

Raya Day 2

On 2nd raya, we went to the studio in the afternoon, completely forgotten that it was around Seff's nap time

Luckily we got one final shot for the yearly poster frame. Not the best, but okaylah. Considering Seff is crying all the time, he's definitely not in the mood!

We took this opportunity for my mom's first proper studio session with Abah. Teehehe

Time to go back to my in-laws, gave mom & abah their Raya money, and its done for my side.

Raya Day 3

At my in-laws, since it's Raya after many years not celebrating, the Raya dishes were out in no time!

I cooked Chicken Curry x 1

and then Chicken Gulai (Thai-style, unlike their Indo-style), to support the depleting dishes. Alhamdulillah

Its time to go home and do the laundry

Raya Day 4

We allocated one day visiting Bukit Tinggi, learning that the road is clear that day

Raya Day 5

We spent the Raya with open houses, and did some shopping on Saturday & plan for a lunch date on Sunday (also Mother's Day -story on separate post)

Alhamdulillah, all went well. We are forever grateful for seeing the relatives and familiar faces once again, and definitely feeling the joy & happiness because we get to celebrate Raya this year properly

That is all, until next post!
