My Birthday (2025) at Christine's Bakery, IOI City Mall Putrajaya

3:23 PM

My birthday falls again this year during Ramadhan months, so, we returned to one of our all-time favorites — Christine’s Bakery at IOI City Mall Putrajaya — for a special iftar celebration.

Christine’s has always had a place in our hearts. My husband and I love it here. Whether it’s a casual dinner or something more special like this, the food never fails to comfort and impress.

Because it’s Ramadan, we made sure to book ahead, knowing how packed it gets come iftar time. As always, the atmosphere was warm and lively — a mix of hungry anticipation and familiar joy as families and friends gathered to break their fast.

For our iftar feast, we went all in with some of Christine’s best offerings:

🍝 Soft Shell Crab Pasta – creamy, flavorful, and topped with that perfectly crispy crab — my first time trying this one and it's good

🥩 The Wagyu Crozza – my ultimate favorite. Rich, buttery wagyu wrapped in a crispy croissant dough. Heaven in every bite.

🥯 Wagyu Bagel – a hearty, satisfying combo that had both of us nodding in delight.

🍛 And surprisingly (but not surprisingly anymore), their Nasi Lemak — and here’s the thing:
It’s rare for a Western-specialty restaurant to nail a local Malaysian favorite, but Christine’s is the exception. Their nasi lemak is legitimately good — fragrant rice, flavorful sambal, and all the right textures. My son absolutely loves it, and I’m right there with him.

My husband, ever the thoughtful one, made sure we didn’t miss out on anything. He really went all out — ordering more than we could possibly finish, just to make the day extra special. We laughed, we shared, and yes, we brought home leftovers that we happily enjoyed the next day.

As we sat there, full and content, I thought about how lucky I am. Last year, I got my dream LV purse at The Gardens Mall, a birthday gift that still makes me smile every time I carry it. And this year, while the gift was edible (and incredible), the real gift was the moment — being surrounded by the people I love most, sharing great food, and creating memories during such a meaningful time.

I’m truly grateful for good food, good company, and the beautiful rhythm of life. Here’s to more birthdays, more bagels, and more love.

Until next post!
