After a full week of being away for work, all I wanted was to come home and do something meaningful—especially for my son, who had been so well-behaved in my absence. So instead of just returning to our usual routine, we decided to turn it into something special: a little staycation at Philea Resort & Spa Melaka.
The best part of the resort is its atmosphere. Despite being located within town, it genuinely feels like a hidden escape. The mature trees and lush greenery create this peaceful, forest-like environment—it’s almost as if you’ve been transported somewhere far away from the city. Walking around the resort felt calming, quiet, and grounding.
I brought along my DJI Neo (mostly for videos), excited to capture the beautiful surroundings from above. Everything was going smoothly… until it wasn’t. At one point, a sudden strong gust of wind pushed my drone off course —toward the trees. For a split second, I thought it was going to fall (DJI Neo isn't waterproof at all)
I panicked and shouted for my husband—but before anything could happen, one of the hotel staff actually stepped in and managed to catch the drone mid-incident. I was honestly so grateful (and impressed). Kudos to the staff!
almost gave me heart attack!
As for the breakfast—it was decent, but not particularly memorable. Still, that didn’t take away from what mattered most.
This staycation was about reconnecting, rewarding my son, and giving ourselves a little breather—and Philea Resort delivered exactly that. Peaceful surroundings, a comfortable stay, and even a small unexpected adventure to top it off.
Would I come back?
Absolutely.
