RV Staycation: When My Son’s Wish Becomes Our Next Adventure

8:07 AM

After roller coasters, beach pools, karting tracks, and helicopter rides… my son unlocked a new request:

An RV staycation.

I think he got the idea from YouTube — probably Toy Story-inspired — because every time he spots a motorhome, caravan, or RV on the road, he’ll say,

“Mommy, I want RV staycation!”

And honestly… I’ve been quietly following RV staycation places for years.

Because when it comes to my son’s requests,
usually… it becomes my mission. 😆

🌿 The RV Places I’ve Been Eyeing for Years

1️⃣ Stellar Golden Hill, Cameron Highlands

(Following since September 2022, official website (and photos source) : HERE)

Stellar GH has always looked beautiful — located in Cameron Highlands, with that cool weather and scenic views. The vibe? Very peaceful, very aesthetic.

But from what I’ve seen, the caravan space looks a little too compact.

My biggest concern wasn’t comfort — it was space for Solat (Prayer). I once stayed in a very small hotel room where I had to perform Solat on the bed due to limited floor space. It was manageable… but not ideal.

For caravan height and layout, I honestly can’t imagine comfortably performing Solat with the available headspace. Maybe doable outside on the patio, but that depends on weather and privacy, but still will struggle for Subuh, Maghrib, or Isyak (I am prone to mosquito bites!)

Beautiful location — but practically, maybe not the best fit for us.

looks serene 💕

but oh the small floor space!

still not sure where to perform Solat outdoor

but I saw this patio (got potential, but still cannot imagine doing so for early Subuh & nighttime prayers)

2️⃣ A’moss Farmstay, Cameron Highlands

(Following since January 2024, official website (and photos source) : HERE)

The RV here looks slightly bigger. From photos, I think there might be enough floor space for Solat (still unsure about the Qibla direction and exact layout, so no conclusion here!).

The main issue?
It’s designed for 2 pax only — one queen bed.

Maybe okay if my son was still a baby (or XS size) 😂
But he’s not. He's too big now

We stopped bed-sharing since he was 4 years old, and that boundary has worked well for us. So squeezing three people onto one queen bed? Not realistic.

Oh so pretty!

Their caravan layout as advertised through their official website. Better floor space here 💖💖

3️⃣ SUKA Camping (The One That Won 🏆)

(Following since May 2025, official website : HERE)

This one immediately stood out.

Two large beds.
Separate sleeping area.
A bunk-style space for my son (which he LOVES).
Lower bed area for me and my husband.
And most importantly — adequate floor space for Solat.

It just made sense.

SUKA Camping only opened recently in 2025 (around June onwards, I believe), and every time I tried booking… it was SOLD OUT.

But finally —
a slot opened.

And of course, we grabbed it.

It is not a normal sized caravan, its a whole truck! They have own outdoor pool, this is definitely my son loves water so so much, so any staycation with private pool is definitely our ultimate choice!

Got separate area for parents & child. Love this so so much! And ample sized bath is what I need..

Still got indoor & outdoor area. Nice!

After everything — sports seasons, theme parks, tiramisu hunts, flying while pregnant — this feels like another chapter of saying yes to simple childhood wishes. And somehow, every request from him becomes a little adventure for us too.

Stay tuned for the full review of our SUKA Camping staycation soon 🚐✨ (reviewed on Google Reviews straightaway though, haha, only late with this blog writing as I wanted to review them thoroughly)

Alhamdulillah for the ample space at SUKA Camping, we even can perform Maghrib berjemaah 💕

Until next post!
