My Pregnancy Essentials
10:15 AMAlready in my 3rd trimester, let me summarize my pregnancy essentials or everything I cant live without, at home or during travel
1. PRENATAL VITAMINS & DRUGS
Started the 1st trimester consuming only folic acid, and then changed my single folic acid pills to Zincofer as per given during my monthly check up (2nd trimester onwards). To prevent PE, Ive been prescribed:
i. Aspirin
ii. Calcium Carbonate
iii. Calcitriol (Vitamin D)
2. BLOOD PRESSURE & BLOOD SUGAR MONITOR
While last year I went to an early labour because of PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension), where my BP spiked to 220/xx, when I found out that I am pregnant, my mom just gave me her BP monitor (I guess shes afraid for this time too), but so far my BP reading were normal
Only this time, I failed MGTT (passed last year), so they said I have Gestational Diabetes. So every 2 weeks I did the BSP, and went for a doctor review the day after (BSP)
The BSP reading were normal everytime, ranging from 4.0 - 5.0 & my HbA1c (done at 6 months) reading is 4.4%. Huh
P.s. I didnt know how did I failed the MGTT, because when I was on diet (as suggested through their diet plan they gave me), my blood sugar reading can fall below 3.9
Sometimes I got so tired going to the KKIA every 2w -almost wanted to give up especially when sometimes I can get too busy with work and went on an oustation T.T

3. NATURAL, NON TOXIC SKINCARE & MAKEUP
Choosing safer, natural and non-toxic makeup is rather personal, so dont mind me if you still follow your pre-pregnancy routine. So no further explanation needed
But I am starting to love natural skincare and my current faves are:
1. ARCONA skincare
2. Physicians Formula Organic Wear CC cream
3. Bare Minerals Matte Foundation
P.s. My makeup products are not yet all non-toxic, but I believe a good canvas is all takes. Other toppings (concealer, blusher, highlighter etc. can just be pat on afterwards) can be the usual one-lah

4. BRA EXTENDERS, BREAST PADS & PANTIES
Bra Extenders : Im loving my pre-pregnancy bras and therefore, I just purchased few bra extenders to suit the need (if it feels too tight)
Breast Pads : I might be different from other expecting moms, since I started to leak (breastmilk) at 6 months (I leaked last year at 7 months). Its way too early and embarrasing, you know! And so there are breastpads that saves me..
Comfortable Panties : I found that La Senza panties still suit me beyond 7 months comfortably so can I suggested this brand for all moms? Hehe. I had a few brands and I keep searching for my La Senza panties.. >.<
*tmi, thus no photos*
5. EGYPTIAN MAGIC (All Purpose) Cream & LUCAS PAPAW Ointment
I had some rashes (probably eat rashes, drying too) during my first trimester and too scared to put anything that might contains steroid, so I tried lathering Egyptian Magic Cream to the areas and it worked! Rashes gone overnight
However in my 2nd trimester I also getting some sort of eczema/dry areas around my fingers but the Egyptian Magic cream didnt work. I first purchased Lucas Papaw Ointment with the initial purpose of a lip balm, but it healed me from the eczema too! Such a good products
So in conclusion, I am giving good review to these 2 products. Please mind that Egyptian Magic Cream can replace your face moisturizer in case you're going for a safer, non toxic skincare during pregnancy, but it doesnt work on me. I learned that anything "oily" breaks me out *sobs*
P.s. always wanted to try Argan Oil like from Josie Maran, but I guess I cant so I shant

6. CANDIDE MULTIRELAX
(or Maternity Pillow of your choice)Mine is CANDIDE Multirelax (Thanks, husband!) and its of the softest material ever!
P.s. No hotel pillows is as soft as CANDIDE Multirelax, I swear.. If you have the chance to feel it in-store, please do..
I thought at first that the pillow will be used post-pregnancy, but boy I was wrong! During my 3rd trimester, I had troubles with sleeping and this pillow helps a lot..
Candide Multirelax+ (see the fabric looks close up!)
7. MILK & Co. BABY : SNOTTY GROTTY (room spray) & SLEEPY BUBS (Massage Oil)
Its either point #6 above, or the combination of these 2 that helped me with my sleepless night, so I sprayed Snotty Grotty every night. And husband has been religiously give me massages and I always had troubles choosing massage rub that suits mom-to-be. So I purchased Sleepy Bubs because of its natural ingredients thats even safe for babies. Safe for babies, safe for mommies, right?
My Milk & Co. Favourites
I believe everyone has different must-haves and opinions. I believe, the top products every mom is suggesting is definitely : TUMMY BALM @ STRETCH MARK CREAM
But I was blessed, I got no stretch marks (yet) so that explains why I dont include it in this post. I believe every body (and opinion) is different, and Id probably will be purchasing one near labour
(I still think Im gonna have to deal with stretchmarks later).
Btw, this is first time Im carrying a larger baby (yay baby, keep growing!)
(Elana was an IUGR baby, thus my bump last year was small & belly not much stretch-lah kot)
P.s. Also good to have : Maternity Pants or jeans. But palazzo still works for me!
Feel free to comment if you're a lot like mine!
(esp the BM leaking part zz)
